Everyday Speech is a leader in Social-Emotional Learning. Primarily a teaching solution for public schools, our Social-Emotional Learning Platform (SELP) provides educators with curriculum materials for students of ALL ages across special education and general education classes. Our curriculums teach students the strategies and life skills they need to regulate their emotions, solve problems, cope with the stresses of modern life, and interact with the world around them. In this role, you will:

  • Impact how the education system teaches young students fundamental social and emotional skills that will aid them throughout life.
  • Empower teachers, parents, and students through making more people aware of newer and better digital experiences in SEL.
  • Provide value through marketing: we take an inbound approach and view marketing as another avenue to addvalue to customers and non-customers alike, rather than solely focusing on extracting value.

As a member of the Go-to-Market Department, the Marketing Director will be responsible for owning marketing objectives, strategies, programs, and policies for all products and services for the organization; translating the overall marketing vision into integrated business plans, tactics, projects, and deliverables; and overseeing critical marketing functions, including market research, communications, and product planning.

Skills: Inbound Marketing, SEO & SEM, UX, content management, analytics, Hubspot, people skills, and team building / motivation.

In the short term (the first 3 months), you’ll get your hands dirty, helping us execute our back-to-school campaigns. Initially, your focus will be primarily on digital marketing and optimizing our existing infrastructure. You’ll get integrated with our sales, customer success, RevOps, and existing marketing team to understand the full customer lifecycle. You should have a bias towards action, being comfortable pushing through when you don’t have all the answers and handling lots of moving parts to get campaigns out the door.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Gaining a deep understanding of our product, market, and customers
  • Analysis of existing channels
  • Creation and maintenance of marketing KPIs
  • Testing and iteration for improvement of existing processes
  • Integration into the customer lifecycle alongside sales, customer success, and RevOps
  • Creation of content development pipelines and systems
  • Getting to know existing marketing staff and establishing management foundations

The work you do will have a direct impact on the well-being of millions of at-risk students across the country and the world.

In the Long term, you will help scale marketing’s impact by building out the core team, identifying strategies and channels that aren’t currently utilized, and finding new ways to add value to students, educators, and administrators.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Directing and controlling the overall department responsible for marketing. 
  • Finding what works and maximizing that at the risk of saying no to everything else.
  • Creation of yearly marketing operational calendars to ensure our activities are timely and relevant.
  • Thoughtful scaling of your team to attain your goals without bloat.
  • Coaching and oversight of the marketing department, through the lens of servant leadership.

Experience in/have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Thorough understanding of market developments.
  • Thorough understanding of marketing strategies and practices. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Hubspot
  • At least five years of experience in marketing and long-range planning required.
  • Experience managing remote teams

Annual Salary: $180,000 USD
