We call this role “Performance Marketing Manager,” but you will be focused 90% on paid social and only 10% on paid search.

At its core, this role is about creating demand for our services on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram using advertising.

Our marketing team is responsible for driving demand and building the Scribe brand globally. We are a close-knit, high-performing team that drives results (revenue), utilizes data-informed insights to understand what makes our vast audiences tick, and designs our messaging, content, advertising, and strategies to attract more people to us.

As the Performance Marketing Manager, you’ll be responsible for both capturing and creating demand for our services, resulting in revenue growth.

You’ll primarily own and focus on:

  • Scaling LinkedIn Ads: We’ve had a lot of early success using LinkedIn Ads and it will be your job to come in and scale spend.
  • Add Facebook & Instagram as new demand creation channels: We use a tool called Versium that allows you to upload contact lists to Facebook and Instagram for precise targeting. We’ve had early success with these audiences on LinkedIn and so your job will be to replicate the strategy over to Facebook and Instagram.
  • Maintaining our paid advertising change log.
  • Planning, executing, and reporting on paid advertising experiments: We have a culture of experimentation and always aim to continually improve through new learnings.
  • Reporting on paid advertising results: The way we measure B2B marketing might be different from what you’re used to. Rather than CPL or ROAS, we report on metrics that show us if a piece of content was consumed (e.g. time on page, video completion percentage, etc.), revenue metrics (e.g. pipeline created by self reported attribution source), and metrics that show brand lift (e.g. branded traffic, pageviews to high intent pages).
  • Optimizing spend between the various paid advertising channels.
  • Manage day-to-day operations (e.g. adding demographic exclusion, negative keywords, adjusting bids, etc.) across all paid advertising channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Ads.

This role is for an analytical, organized person with fantastic attention to detail. You have plenty of experience running B2B paid advertising campaigns and geek out over running experiments and optimizing paid advertisements.

  • Experience with Facebook and Instagram Ads in B2B: You will be adding Facebook and Instagram ads as demand creation channels, so you should have, at a minimum, 3 years experience running Facebook and Instagram ads, preferably for a B2B organization. You understand all the nuances of Facebook Business Manager and feel comfortable navigating all the different settings.
  • Analytical, Strategic, and Metrics Driven: Proven success in generating demand through paid advertising channels, including program creation, execution, measurement, analysis, and reporting. You get excited by extracting actionable learnings from campaign data, managing spreadsheets and tools, and identifying insights from numbers to continuously improve execution.
  • Numbers, Numbers, Numbers: Love ‘em or hate ‘em, they’re the heart of everything we do as a business (and, you should definitely love them if you’re applying to this role). The idea of a day spent digging through campaign data, mapping that data to revenue outcomes, and making strategic decisions from your analysis genuinely excites you.
  • You Are an Enthusiastic Learner and Have a Growth Mindset: You have a proven track record of constantly challenging the status quo. We will be solving new and complex problems together in this role. That often means you teach yourself new skills by conducting research or connecting with outside experts in order to drive forward results. The idea of learning new things with a large degree of autonomy should absolutely thrill you, rather than terrify you.
  • You’re Obsessed with Organization and Have Impeccable Attention to Detail: You must be the type of person who can’t stand for things to be out of order. We’re a fast moving young company (7 years old) and a big part of your role is to bring order to the chaos, at least in terms of our paid ad accounts. If you geek out over campaign structure, naming conventions, and SOPs, that’s a great sign. Impeccable attention to detail is so critical to this role, on the application when it asks “what is your favorite animal”, we want you to write “attention to detail is my middle name”.
