The Role

We are looking for a badass content marketer with a background in writing and creating engaging, conversational content that people actually want to read. Experience with content distribution and amplification will be considered a strong advantage. MarkUp is an amazing and innovative tool that helps simplify team collaboration processes–especially for creative teams, and we want our content to reflect that. 

Our team is made up of insanely creative and talented individuals. Every conversation is an absolute inspiration, and there are plenty of opportunities for growth. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus primarily on creating and managing the company blog and website content, with some user-facing content periodically added to the mix (e.g. helping with product updates and help guides)
  • Work with the team to identify and map out topics relevant to the audiences with both short and long-term goals in mind
  • Proactively find ways to improve and optimize existing blog content
  • Create new posts on an ongoing basis (at least 4 pieces per month) with the goal of attracting site visitors through search, social, and other emerging channels.
  • Collaborate with designers, product team, and external vendors on creating relevant and impactful content pieces
  • Work alongside other team members to find effective ways to distribute and amplify our content

Practical stuff we anticipate you having:

  • 3+ years of active writing and content management experience, preferably in SaaS business environment
  • Strong grasp of current SEO best practices (e.g. keyword research, content loops, cornerstone content, etc.)
  • Experience working with WordPress
  • Experience working with tools like Ahrefs and Notion is considered a strong advantage
  • A dual-minded approach: You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications or equivalent experience
  • Native or near-native level of English
  • Experience with video content is a plus
